2026 AWS Summit Seoul: AI Took Center Stage

AWS Summit Seoul 2026, Amazon Web Services’ annual cloud and AI conference in South Korea, was held at COEX in Seoul on May 20 and 21, 2026.

AWS Summit is Amazon Web Services’ flagship event, held annually in major cities around the world.

This year’s event featured more than 150 AI-focused sessions and demonstrations, along with over 70 customer success stories. More than 150 sessions were conducted simultaneously across nine different tracks. As in previous years, the event occupied conference rooms from the first through third floors of COEX, making it one of the largest AWS Summit events held in Seoul.

The Expo Hall was filled with AWS and numerous sponsors showcasing technologies and solutions related to the event.

At last year’s AWS Summit Seoul, it felt as though AWS was beginning to embrace AI. This year, however, AI was no longer just one of the topics—it was clearly the central theme of the entire event.

The theme of the first day was “Industry Day.”

Attendees had the opportunity to see how companies across various industries are utilizing AWS AI services within their own products and operations.

Sessions were held simultaneously across nine tracks, including AI Leadership, Retail & Commerce, Financial Services & FinTech, SaaS & Digital Platforms, Manufacturing & High Tech, Physical AI, Telecommunications, Media & Gaming, Travel & Hospitality, and Public Sector & Healthcare.

AWS also introduced several AI-powered services designed to support business analysis and workflow automation.

Another key message was that organizations seeking to adopt AI agents must also rethink and transform their existing work processes to fit the AI era.

AWS presented the concept of the AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AI-DLC) and introduced AI-native methodologies aimed at helping organizations make the most of AI development tools.

In addition, many sessions shared real-world examples of how businesses have successfully implemented AI to improve productivity and operational efficiency.

The theme of the second day was “AI Day.”

While the first day focused on practical AI adoption across industries, the second day concentrated more on the engineering side of implementing AI solutions.

Topics included the mindset developers need in the AI era, building optimal environments for AI development, creating AI-powered businesses, AI model development, managed AI services, data-driven AI, agent development tools, AI-native development methodologies, AI infrastructure, security and governance, and AI-driven business innovation.

As expected, the venue was packed with industry professionals and engineers throughout the event.

More than ever, AI no longer felt like just another topic at AWS Summit. Instead, it served as the core thread connecting nearly every session and discussion. It will be interesting to see what AWS brings to the stage next year.
